There are two types of manufacturing processes used to make safety glass. One is a laminating process, where two layers of glass are bonded by a plastic inner layer. The plastic layer cushions the impact and prevent glass from separating into thousand of tiny pieces, reducing the danger and severity of lacerations.

Tampered safety glass used in many side and rear windows, reduces the risks of serious injury in an accident by shattering into tiny fragments with no sharp edges. A "tempered" glass is one that has been rapidly cooled in manufacturing so that the outside surfaces become much harder than the inner part. The differences in hardness is what causes the glass to break into fairly uniform pebbles as opposed to shards.

Our Warranty
AB Auto Shield Mechanic is pleased to provide a lifetime warranty against material defects on all windshield and a two-years warranty on any other auto glass work, moldings and accessories and against leaks. This warranty expires when you sell your vehicle. Any claim must be reported immediately, failure to do so will nullify the warranty.

AB Auto Shield Mechanic reserve the right to inspect all products and installations prior to authorizing any repair or replacement. AB Auto Shield Mechanic will respond to any warranty situation promptly, however it is the customers responsibility to take all reasonable protections against further leakage or damage. Any water or other damage to the vehicle as a result of failure to immediately report a problem or to make a vehicle available for servicing, is the responsibility of the vehicle owner. AB Auto Shield Mechanic is not responsible for scratching caused by the falling of broken glass prior to or during the cause of replacement. We do our best to insure no damage occur to your vehicle during repair if damage does occur, any and or repairs will be done at the sole discretion and remedy of AB Auto Shield Mechanic. AB Auto Shield Mechanic shall not be held liable for any damage to the customer vehicle or property exceeding the total sales price of the product or the work performed.
